Allen W. Watts Obituary

Allen Wallace Watts was born on June 2, 1938 in Eads, Colorado, the son of Woodrow and Dorine Watts. Allen started school in Eads, then with his parents and sister Phyllis Ann moved to Sherwood, Oregon where they resided until Allen was 14 years old, and at that time they moved back to Eads. Their trip back was different than their trip to Oregon, because now Allen had another sister, Jacklyn, who was born while the Watts family lived in Oregon. Allen continued his education in Eads, graduating with the class of 1957. After graduating high school, he attended college in Pueblo, CO for one year.

Allen worked in the construction business as a carpenter for his dad and also in the Colorado Springs, Colorado area. Allen was an avid fisherman and hunter, spending many years enjoying these sports. Due to failing health, Allen entered the Weisbrod Nursing Home on September 28, 2004 and resided there until his death on March 31, 2007. He spent his time reading westerns and wore out several decks of cards playing solitaire during his time there.

Allen W. Watts is survived by his three children: Natalie (Eddie) Lang of Holly, CO, Allen W. (Marie) Watts of Eads, CO and Robin (Travis) Darnell of Coolidge, KS. He is also survived by his two sisters: Phyllis (Wally) Mosher of Colorado Springs, CO and Jacklyn (Bill) Koehler of Eads as well as 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild and many other cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts and friends. Allen was preceded in death by his parents: Woodrow and Dorine Ogden Watts, and one niece Stephanie Rae Koehler.

Funeral services for Allen W. Watts were held on Wednesday April 4, 2007 at the Eads Cemetery with Minister Alvin Clamp officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to the Weisbrod Nursing Home Auxiliary.
