Barbara "Bobbie" Ann Brown Obituary

Barbara “Bobbie” Ann Brown

Barbara Ann Brown, age 89, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on June 25, 1936, in Ness City, Kansas, Barb lived life on her own terms. She was strong-willed, fiercely independent, and never afraid to tell you exactly what she thought. Those who knew her best would likely smile and say she could be a little stubborn at times, but that same strength carried her through life’s challenges and helped shape the remarkable woman she became.

Aside from earning her beautician's license, one of her proudest accomplishments was owning and operating K&L Tank Trucking, a business she dedicated herself to for many years. Her determination, strong work ethic, and entrepreneurial spirit helped build a successful business and earned the respect of those who knew and worked with her.

Barb loved life and rarely passed up an opportunity to celebrate it. A natural host, she enjoyed bringing family and friends together, whether for holidays and special celebrations, competitive card games, an afternoon cocktail, or a day on the boat. She and John loved opening their home to visitors, and over the years, countless friends and family members shared meals, stories, laughter, and extended stays under their roof.

Some of her happiest memories were made boating on the St. Croix and Mississippi Rivers in Minnesota and soaking up the sunshine and warmth in Florida with family and friends. She loved shopping, fashion, and finding the perfect outfit and accessories, but what she treasured most was spending time with the people she loved.

More than anything, Barb valued the relationships she built throughout her life. She leaves behind a family who will miss her deeply and remember her for her strength, determination, generosity, and the countless memories she created.

Barb is survived by her daughter, Roxanne (John) Mewhorter; stepson, Michael Brown; grandchildren, Roclyn (Mark) Bradshaw, Carlie (Mark) Freeman, and Arriel (Adam) Bachler; sisters, Bea Cole and Kathy Moeger; and seven great-grandchildren: Jude, Henry, Jayce, Blakely, Nash, Brynlee, and Callan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Brown; stepdaughter, Karen Hull; parents, Jacob and Mollie Gross; and siblings, Ruben Gross, Luella Kleveno, and Melvin Gross.

A  Visitation will be held at 9:00 am on Friday June 12, 2026 and the Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Brown Funeral Home in Burlington, Colorado, with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.

The family would like to thank all those who cared for and supported Barb throughout her life and during her final days. While she may no longer be with us, her spirit, stories, and memories will continue to live on in the hearts of those who loved her.
