Carlton "Carl" Woller 89 passed away August 12, 2014 at his home in Vona, Colorado
He was born September 20, 1924 in Kit Carson County Co. His parents Fred & Ella Woller farmed north of Vona
where Carl helped them and other family members with farm work, he also worked at the Burlington sale barn where he
met his bride. He married Wilma Wilkinson December 5, 1948 in Stratton, CO. On September 26, 1949 daughter Sharon
was born. The following year October 2, 1950, son Carlton Jr. "Ace" was born. In 1952 the family moved to Vona where
Carl started working for the Kit Carson County road and bridge as a road grader operator; retiring after 43 years of
service. On July 4, 1953 son, Stan was born, another daughter Cathleen was born, Feb. 7, 1955. But then Carl;s baby was born July 21, 1960, .. Susan.
Carl had several hobbies, he loved working with wood, making family members a variety of toys, decorations for
their homes and novelty items. One of his children's most prize possessions is a wooden train set made by Carl's own
hands. He also enjoyed doing puzzles and watching the Colorado Rockies.
He loved to play horse shoes, he entered into several tournaments in the area with friend Dan Hubbell. Carl and
Dan loved to play cards on the "Hilltop" with other people joining them. Carl also loved playing many other games with
family including pitch, pinochle and dominos just to name a few.
Carl was in partnership with Bud Matthews in a pig farm for several years. Carl also sold Ams Oil for a period of
time. After retiring from the county, Carl took care of the Vona Park. In early 1960 Carl took care of 2 cemeteries north
of Vona.
Carl was a member of the Vona Lions Club.
Carl loved to fish whenever he could. His greatest memory of fishing was at Lake Michigan catching a large
salmon. He loved spending time at Flagler Lake fishing with good friends Lloyd G., Floyd S. and Joe S.
Carl and Wilma where able to see a lot of the United States taking tours on the senior citizens bus.
Carl was proceeded in death by his wife Wilma, daughter Sharon, parents Fred & Ella, brothers Leo & Martin,
Sisters Sophie Rose, Helen Einspahr & Mary Galli. Brother in laws Bob Ohrrnan, Erwin Einspahr, Glen Robinson & Alvin
Hinton. Daughter in law Kathy Woller & son in law Eddie Kiefer.
Carl is survived by sons Ace, Stan & friend Becky, daughters Cathleen and Susan all of Stratton. 8 grandkids, 12
great grandkids. Sisters Lucy Haulman of San Francisco, CA, Lilly Hinton of Tallahassee, FL. Dorothy (Frank) Jacox of Lincoln, NE. Edna Robinson of Mesa, Az. John Galli of Colby, KS. Sister in law Lucille Woller of Loveland, CO. Betty Woller of Las Vegas, NV. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Sept. 20, 2014 at the Vona Cemetery @ 10 am with Pastor Bob Chaney officiating.
In leiu of flowers, a memorial has been set up at Colorado East Bank & Trust in Carl's name to help with the Vona park
sprinkler system. And maybe dropped off at the Brown Latimer Funeral Home, Burlington.
