Clarence Henry Holthus Obituary

Clarence Henry Holthus, 80 yrs. Old, fell asleep in the Lord on Saturday, August 30, 2008. Clarence was born October 15, 1927 in Ludell, Kansas, the first of five sons born to William H. Holthus and Clara L. (Hesterman) Holthus. The family moved to Byron Nebraska in 1937, then to Goff Kansas in 1940. At the age of 15 they moved to Kit Carson Colorado, after graduating High School in 1945 he enlisted in the Army. He was united in marriage on November 10, 1946 to Alice Marie Hansen who preceded him in death on August 31, 1982. They had four children in this union, the youngest son, Michael Dean, preceded him in death on March 5, 2001. He married Rita May Korrell on September 10, 1983, she preceded him in death on September 17, 2004.


Clarence is survived by three brothers, Arnold (Elsie) of Hurst, TX; Robert (Peggy) of Grand Junction, CO; Melvin (Judy) of Highlands Ranch, CO; Willard passed away unexpectedly on the 26th of September 2007. His children Carolyn (Fred) Easton of Jasper, AL. Roberta (John ) Jamieson of Snoqualmie, WA; Dennis Holthus (CiCi) of Westminster, CO.


Clarences stepson, Michael Korrell of Cheyenne Wells passed away in July of 2008, his wife, Charlene still resides in Cheyenne Wells. He is also survived by his stepdaughter, Charlotte (Jerry) Frazzini of Westminster, CO.



13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.


Funeral services were held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado.
