The family of Curtis Strode announces his passing Wednesday March 12, 2025. He was born in Liberty, Missouri, February 19, 1940.

After graduating High School in Rolla, North Dakota he joined the Air Force Where he served as Military Policeman until he was discharged 9/10/62.

He was a graduate of the University of North Dakota where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration May 23, 1971. After graduating from College he was in business for himself for a while then was hired by the City of Denver as Electrical Supervisor for the City and County of Denver. One of his responsibilities was the designing and direction of the annual lighting of the City and County Building. He was recognized numerous times by the Denver Mayors for his excellent work and dedication. He worked for the City for 20 years before retiring.

He married while in college, to Beverly Strode and had a daughter, Kirsten Strode of Denver Colorado.

That marriage was dissolved March 2, 2002.

He later married Patsy McIntyre and they lived most of their married life in the small hill country town of Sattler, Texas.

As he and Patsy got older they decided to move closer to her family in Stratton Co. Patsy is the mother of Leslie Clapper who is married to Chuck Clapper of Stratton. They are a large family and quickly adopted Curt as their step dad. Most of them are farmers and Curt got to drive one of the tractors for the first time in his life. He said he un-plowed 20 acres.

Some of the things he enjoyed in life was making a diorama of a village for his electric model train set.

He also collected model cars and sailing ships.

He loved dogs and cats. He was a really good photographer. Patsy is an artist and used many of his photographs for her paintings.

He and Patsy played the game of Mexican Train almost every day during his retirement. It was pretty much the high light of his day.

He loved going to church and spending time with his friends at church. Toward the end of his life, he was unable to attend but would have Patsy tell him what

the service was about. He watched one of his favorite preachers, Ray B. Still of Oakwood Baptist Church in New Braunfels, Texas, on television while Patsy was at church in Burlington.

Curt is preceded in death by his father, mother, two brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife Patsy, his daughter Kirsten, and has many surviving nieces and nephews.
