Daniel Lee Stansbury was the youngest of six born to Ralph and Irene Stansbury on January 29, 1951. He was born and raised in Cheyenne Wells, Colorado. Danny graduated from the Cheyenne County High School. After high school, he worked at several different jobs over the years. Some of the different jobs were with Herman Rother, harvesting with Rusty and Butch Baker, in the gas station with Wayne Milheim, working on the drill rigs driving truck with KUDU, working in Fred Fultons tire shop, lastly working with Don and Louise Konecne south west of Cheyenne Wells. Danny was always available to harvest, drive tractor, or rescue someone needing help with chores. Don and Louise Konecne took Danny in when his mothers house in town burnt in a fire. Danny worked and helped around the Konecne farm until his death on October 9, 2007. Danny always liked helping others and enjoyed sitting around reminiscing with a cold beer in his hand.


Daniel Lee Stansbury was preceded in death by his mom and dad, and sisters Carol and Sharon. Danny is survived by his brothers Larry Stansbury of Pine, CO and Ralph Jr. (Bobbi) Stansbury of Cheyenne Wells, CO and his sister Sandy Sue Pfeifer of Bolivar, MO as well as his very special friends Don and Louise Konecne and family.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 13, 2007 at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Cheyenne Wells with Dannys classmate, Carl Smalley officiating. Pam Helm and Ambie Cullens provided the musical selections accompanied by Marilyn Boswell. Honorary casketbearers were Don Konecne and Wayne Milheim.
