Edward "Ed" Weber Obituary
Edward Joseph Weber was born at the family farm home in Sheridan Lake, Colorado December 5, 1923, to Frank and Agatha Weber. He was the second of eight children. Ed left this life to be with Jesus on Monday, September 3, 2012 after a short bout with kidney disease and dialysis.
Ed grew up a farmer and though left farming for a short while to attend school in hopes of becoming a veterinarian, returned home to work on his family farm during World War II and had farmed and ranched ever since.
In 1949, Ed met his beautiful bride Betty Jane Kelly and married a short time later. Ed and Betty settled on a home place just south of Cheyenne Wells, Co where they raised their 5 children: Steve, Mary Jane, David, Susan, and Brad.
Ed farmed the home place until 2003 when his macular degeneration prevented him from farming any longer. Today the farm is still operated by his son David.
His wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all have very fond memories of Ed and most all of them relate to his keen sense of humor, his unselfish ways, and the mentoring role he has played in all of their lives. His great-grandchildren call him Greatpa and he truly was GREAT!
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Agatha, sisters Mildred, Laverda, and Roslyn, brother Leander, and eldest son Steve.
Ed is survived by his wife Betty, sisters Leona and Mary Lou, brother Denis, daughter Mary, son David and wife Janet, daughter Susan and husband Perry, son Brad and wife Francine, six grandchildren Shawna and husband Keith, Kris and wife Monica, Court and wife Ronnie, Josi, Kacey and husband Greg, Jessi and husband Ryan, and seven great-grandchildren: Daunte, Colin, Jadyn, Riley, Kina, Rylan, and Landon.
A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cheyenne Wells.
