Evelyn Elizabeth Storie Crowe Marble was born to Albert Thomas and Elizabeth Evelyn Storie in Granite City, Illinois on December 4, 1929. She was the second of four children. In 1946 she married Robert E. Crowe in Battle Creek, Michigan. They lived most of the following years in California. Robert passed away in 1986 in California. Evelyn moved to Lamar, Colorado in 1988. There she met and married Everett A. Tad Marble in 1991, and they made their home in Chivington, Colorado. Evelyn loved to garden, and was the grand champion gardener in 1997 through 2000. She loved her family, all of them. Evelyn Marble died on March 24, 2008 at the Weisbrod Nursing Home in Eads, Colorado.


She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Melvin Storie and Franklin Storie and her first husband Robert Crowe. Surviving Evelyn is her husband Tad Marble of Chivington, children, Robert (Marlene) Crowe, Gary Crowe, Larry Crowe, Mickey Crow, and Joanne (Patrick) Hetzel. She is also survived by her step children, Susie Marble, Violet (Jerry) Tidwell, David Marble, Kelli (Ralph) Berry and Tom Marble, 16 grandchildren, 9 step grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 1 sister, Margaret Kemmer and 1 sister-in-law, Louise Storie as well as many other family and friends.


Graveside funeral services were held on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Eads Cemetery with her son Bob Crowe officiating.


Memorial contributions can be made to the Weisbrod Nursing Home Auxiliary in Eads.


Visitation and funeral services were entrusted to the care of the Brown Funeral Home in Eads, Colorado.
