Fannie Lou Murdock Obituary

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 13, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Sheridan Lake Bible Church in Sheridan Lake, Colorado. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date in the Sheridan Lake Cemetery. In lieu of of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Prairie Pines Assisted Living Community in Eads or to the Pikes Peak Area Hospice in Colorado Springs. Fannie Lou Murdock passed from this life into Eternal Life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, February 6, 2010. She was 81 years of age. She died at her daughters home in Colorado Springs, Colorado and was attended by her husband of 62 years, Bucky, as well as by several children and grandchildren.


Fannie was born in Dodge City, Kansas on August 13, 1928 to Chester and Lucretia Woten and had one sister, Doris Meeker. She and her husband, Bucky were married on February 8, 1948. Fannie attended college at Ft. Hays, State University in Hays, Kansas.


She and Bucky resided in Sheridan Lake, Colorado where they farmed, ranched, raised their children and celebrated life daily. On two separate occasions, Fannie also worked as a secretary at Plainview School where she enjoyed the children, as well as a homemaker and bookkeeper.


She was a member of the Sheridan Lake Bible Church; she loved dogs of all persuasions and her favorite color was purple.


Fannie is survived by her husband Bucky; her daughter Toni French and her husband Larry; her sons, Michael and David Murdock; her daughter Beth and her husband John; as well as by eleven grand-children and twelve great grand-children.


She was preceded in death by her parents and sister.


In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to either Prairie Pines Assisted Living Community in Eads, Colorado or Pikes Peak Hospice in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The family wishes to thank Pikes Peak Hospice for the compassionate and competent care they provided both to Fannie and to them.
