Geraldine Sanders Obituary

Geraldine Sanders passed away June 19, 2007 at the Life Care Center in Evergreen, CO. She was born in Decatur County Kansas on May 27, 1927 to Louise and Clarence McEwen. She called many places home, including Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Colorado. Geraldine married G. Harold Sanders in 1949 after coming to Colorado the previous year. Grandma gave all her love as a devoted mother, wife, and friend. Some of her favorite activities were gardening, cooking, and most of all spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.


She is survived by her children, Luanna (Allen) Naugle, Valeria (Dale) Zupancic, and Dorian (Sandra) Sanders; her sister Thresia (Rick) Adams; her Aunt Mildred (Roger) Day; six grandchildren, Kris (Mark Wilson) Lebofsky, Ryan (Carrie) Naugle, Jeremy Naugle, Taunya (Jeff) Jakopec, Nicole (Curtis) Forehand, and David Sanders; ten great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; numerous nephews; and nieces including Rosemary (Eric) Briggs and Loretta (Augusto) Gonzales. Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband G. Harold Sanders, son Jerry, and siblings Ethel, Bernadine, Floyd and Lloyd McEwen.


Funeral services were held June 25th at the United Methodist Church in Kit Carson, CO with Reverend Burry Bussy officiating. Interment followed at Kit Carson Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to the Brown Funeral Homes.
