Officer Grace Cortez Garcia was born in Echo Park, California in 1989 and graduated high school in 2007. She graduated from college in 2010. She worked in a shelter in California before coming to the Kit Carson Correctional Center in June 2011.
Grace is Survived by her parents, Chela, her father Mauro and brother Jason. She is also survived by her fiance Bobby Mendez and a host of friends.
Memorial Services will be held Tue Dec. 27, 2011 in the Burlington Community Centery at 2:00 p.m.
