Jackie May (Boyles) Neidig Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jackie Neidig (Boyles) on February 14, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on August 11, 1940, though there was some disagreement in the papers at the time, with The Burlington Call listing her birth as August 10, while The Flagler News correctly recorded it as August 11 at Colorado General Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Jackie led a life filled with love, dedication, and resilience. She took great pride in keeping her home immaculate, from daily vacuuming and weekly sweeping cobwebs to monthly window washing. A model of the classic Betty Crocker wife and mother, she lovingly cared for her husband and children with unwavering devotion.
She worked as a cook at the local high school for over 20 years, keeping her kitchen as spotless as any hospital's. Her warm heart and caring nature touched the lives of countless students and staff.
In her earlier years, Jackie was a passionate bowler and loved playing Pitch and other card games with Grandpa Bill and Grandma Vada, as well as Jim and Jerri Troyer (Boyles). This love for cards was something she shared with Jody and Gary, spending many cherished hours together over the years.
Jackie's greatest devotion was to her family, a journey that began when she married Gary Dean Neidig on January 30, 1957. Together, they had three children: Cary Neidig (Burlington), Jody Neidig (deceased), and Cindy Bullard (Neidig) (Las Vegas). She dedicated her later years to caring for Jody after an accident left him paralyzed, remaining by his side until his passing.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jack; mother, Eunice; sister, Joie; brother, John; husband, Gary; son, Jody; and granddaughter, Amanda. She is survived by her sister, Jerri Troyer, and her husband, Jim; son, Cary Neidig, and his wife, Ronda; daughter, Cindy Bullard, and her husband, Brad; grandchildren: Cara Neidig, Nathan Neidig, Kristina S., Jessica Eagleboy (Neidig) and her husband, Justin; Brittney Smith (Nesbitt) and her husband, Bruce; Levi Nesbitt and his wife, Amanda; and Tyler Nesbitt and his wife, Laney; along with numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Jackie will be remembered for her kindness, strength, and unwavering commitment to those she loved. She will be deeply missed by all who know her.
Family and friends are invited to gather at Cary's house afterward for finger food and remembrance.
In honor of Jackie's memory, donations may be made to a charity of your choosing.
