James Harris Jones (Jim) passed away peacefully Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado surrounded by his family. He was 61 years old.

Jim was born on June 14, 1951 in Burlington, Colorado to LeRoy and Agnes Jones. He grew up in Flagler, Colorado and was an active member of FFA and 4H of which he held various offices including President. Jim was also an athlete who excelled in Football and Basketball. Following graduation he attended Colorado State University for a year and a half where he studied Animal Husbandry. While attending college he met his first wife with that marriage resulting in his two sons JW and Will.

Jim enjoyed various occupations from ranching in Flagler and Kremmling, Colorado to working at the Amax Mine near Kremmling, but it was in 1994, when he passed his brand exams that he moved to Brush, Colorado to find his loved profession of Brand Inspector for the State of Colorado. Jim continued as a Brand Inspector when he relocated to Burlington, Colorado. Jim was very good at his job and loved to work with the ranchers in the surrounding communities. When his illness made it too difficult for him to continue working he retired and relocated to his home of Flagler where he resided until his death. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren, neighbors and family.

Jim is survived by his sons, JW (Barbara) Jones and Will (Rebecca) Jones, both of Casper, WY; his mother Agnes Jones, Sister Jan (Chris) Michal both of Flagler; nephew LeRoy (Christy) Michal of Florida and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Ethan, Ryanne and Acelynn Jones.

He is preceded in death by his father, LeRoy Jones, Uncle Steve Kasza,Uncle Paul Schiferl, Uncle Albert Gwyn, Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Clyde Sweet, as well as his grandparents Jim and Ida Gwyn and Harris and Lina Jones.

The family would like to thank the numerous family and friends who were with them during Jims passing, as well as the ICU nurses, doctors and staff at Memorial Hospital for their compassion and care for Jim during his final days.

A funeral service with be held at The Church of Christ in Flagler, Colorado on October 27, 2012 at 1pm; with visitation from 12:30 to 1pm. He will be laid to rest in the Flagler Cemetery following the service.

The family has requested any donations be made to the Flagler Ambulance Fund or the Flagler Volunteer Fire Department and maybe dropped off at the funeral home
