Jesus Zamarripa-Fierro was born in Banderas, Mexico on July 9, 1939 to Jose Zamarripa and Maria Fierro. His brothers and sisters are Melquiades, Carlos, Esther, Felipe, Justo, Eva, Nieves, Jose, Reyes, Adan, Luis and Raquel. They were a very happy family.


In 1958, Jesus married the love of his life, Mauuela Sigala. They also lived a very happy life and to this union, seven children were born: Jaime, Idio, Delia, Javier, Joel, Gloria and Elva. Jesus and Manuela both loved all their children very much. Jesus had 28 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Jesus had a love for and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Every year he and Manuela took a trip to Texas and Mexico just to visit. Jesus worked farming and ranching jobs all of his life. He worked the past 21 years for Danny Carroll in Cheyenne Wells, CO taking care of cattle and farming. Jesus had a passion for horses and he was an excellent roper. He liked to drink tequila, party and dance. He was a great dancer! But when it came to doctors he was very stubborn and instead of listening to them, he did what he wanted. Jesus was a good and honest man. He would always lend a hand to friends and family. We will always remember him in our hearts.

Jesus Zamarrripa died at his home in Cheyenne Wells on November 27, 2009. Funeral services were held on Thursday December 3, 2009 at the Cheyenne Wells Christian Church. Final committal services were held at the Fairview Cemetery in Cheyenne Wells. Memorial contributions can be made to the Jesus Zamarripa Memorial Fund in care of the Eastern Colorado Bank in Cheyenne Wells, CO.
