John Edwin Klinge was born October 7, 1935, to Henry and Areta Klinge. He grew up on a farm twelve miles South of Sharon Springs, Kansas and graduated from Wallace County High School in 1953.

Of his ninety years, John spent sixty-nine of them with the girl who caught his eye in high school, Donna Marie Mather (deceased). Together, they milked cows, raised crops, went to barn dances & card parties, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

In their spare time, John and Donna raised six children on the very same farm John had grown up on. Daniel (Glenda) Klinge of Stark City, MO, Kathy (Tom) Rohr of Manhattan, KS, David (Kay) Klinge of Sharon Springs, KS, Dennis (deceased) (Peggy) Klinge of Goodland, KS, Darren Klinge of Sharon Springs, KS, and Derek (Marsha) Klinge of Sharon Springs KS.

One of John and Donna’s greatest joys over the years was watching as their thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren were born, grew and started lives of their own.

John passed away on January 30, 2026.

Dad’s faith touched each one of us - - sharing his love for Jesus was easy for him, and lucky for us. In his own way, dad brought each one of us closer to God and to each other.

We will miss his quick wit, his kindness and most of all his hugs.

Memorial Services will be held at a later date.
