Josiah Jose Herrera, 1, of Burlington, CO, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025 at home surrounded by loved ones.

Josiah was born on April 2, 2024 in Denver, CO to Ricardo and Casey Herrera. Josiah was known for his smiles and happy go lucky attitude. He loved his parents and the family dogs, but big brother Augustine was his favorite! Josiah enjoyed listening to music, getting read to, and watching Pokemon. He was a happy little guy who loved being around his family. Josiah was also diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Krabbe disease. Despite that it never changed the way he was.

Josiah is survived by his parents, Ricardo and Casey, his big brother, Augustine; his grandparents Juan and Maricela Herrera, Gerald and Jill Masters, and Dusty and Jana Wells; his Uncle Juanito De La Cruz (Josephina Garcia), Aunt Nicci (Stephen) Hornung, Aunt Brenna Wells (Quinten Ragels), Aunt Piper Wells, Uncle Hunter, Uncle Cooper, Aunt Sabre, and Aunt Danielle; along with many cousins. 

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, April 11, 2024 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Saint Catherine Catholic Church in Burlington, CO. Burial will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.  at Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Burlington, CO.

Memorial contributions may be left to the Josiah Herrera Memorial Fund in care of Frontier Bank in Burlington, CO.
