Memorial Services will be held at the First Christian Church; 1564 Senter Burlington, CO with Rev. Dennis Cherrington Officiating. Inurnment will Follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, CO.


Longtime Burlington Resident Kenneth Raymond Harrel (Kent) passed away March 15, 2013. Kent was born May 10, 1936 in Pratt, KS. His parents were Kenneth and Margaret (Gebhart) Harrel. He was the oldest of 3 children Kent grew up on the family farm. He spent his summers playing with his cousin, and they seemed to find lots of trouble. Kent attended school at Preston, where he played football. He graduated from Preston High School in 1954.In the summer of 1954, Kent moved with his family to the Burlington area where the family had bought farmland. On October 27, 1957 Kent married Jolena Devenport. They were blessed with 4 children, Cyndy, Rick, Tim and Brenda. Kent and Jolena lived on a farm, where they raised their family. He has always raised wheat. He ran a feedlot for cattle, and then later bred and raised pigs. Kent enjoyed spending time with his cousins and going to many auctions. He enjoyed farming, working on his machinery, and he never ran into anything he couldn't fix. Kent enjoyed the company of all; family, friends and never met a stranger and will be missed by all.


Kent is survived by his wife Jolena Harrel of Burlington, CO, his children Cyndy McCaffrey of Burlington, CO, Rick and Rena Harrel of Lapel, IN, Tim Harrel of Grand Junction, CO, and Brenda Harrel of Burlington, CO, Brother John and MaryAnn Harrel of Bethune, CO, Sister Judy and Terry Buol of Norfolk, NE and 7 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren.

Kent was preceded in Death by his parents Kenneth and Margaret Harrel.


Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church; 1564 Senter Burlington, CO with Rev. Dennis Cherrington Officiating. Inurnment will Follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Burlington, CO.


The family has asked that any Memorials be sent to the First Christain Church; 1564 Senter Burlington, CO 80807 or may be dropped off at Brown & Latimer Funeral Home
