Kim Marie (Edmunds) Henry Obituary

Kim Marie Henry departed this life in Colby, Kansas, on February 16, 2025, at the age of 67 years, 11 months and 2 days. She was born on March 14, 1957, to Leona Pickard and Glenn Edmunds in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was the middle child of three children born to this union. She attended school in Vona and Seibert, Colorado, graduating from the combined Hi-Plains High School in 1975.
Kim married Walter Hubbard on April 18, 1975, in Vona, Colorado, and this union was blessed by two daughters, Lana Marie and Michele Lee. Kim married Leroy Henry on October 17, 2015, in Vona, Colorado, and cherished the blessing of an expanded family. She formed many bonds with her step-children and new extended family, and treasured the additional love and joy they brought to family gatherings and celebrations. Leroy was a devoted husband who honored his wedding vows completely, especially "in sickness and in health," as he lovingly cared for Kim during her final years. Her family will be forever grateful for the love and happiness he brought to her life.
Kim was deeply involved in her church community, driving to Vona for fellowship and participating in retreats with the First Baptist Church members. She had a particular talent for organizing and preparing meals, and loved nothing more than entertaining friends and family. In her free time, she enjoyed playing pokeno, tending to her garden, and was an active member of the garden club. She had a special love for animals and often spoke fondly of her beloved horses, Skipper and Dandy, and the dogs she had growing up.
Kim was a dedicated employee whose diverse skill set benefited many companies in the Kit Carson County area. When her health began to deteriorate, she continued to work at Hitchcock, Inc. for as long as possible, as she greatly enjoyed that environment. She was interested in family history and proudly received her membership in the Daughters of the American Revolution, having proven descent from Patriot ancestor John Rowley.
She is survived by her husband, Leroy Henry; her daughters, Lana (Andy) Davis and Michele Hubbard; her grandchildren, Jailyn Morris, TynLee and KyeAnn Hubbard, Austin, Emma, Joseph and Brenton Davis, and Wyatt Henry; her sister, DeAnn Cure; her step-family Nicholas Henry, Daniel (Lea) Henry, and Sarah (Justin) Teitelbaum; her step-mother Barbara Edmunds, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her angel granddaughter, Lakynn Marie Davis, her parents Glenn Edmunds and Leona (Pickard) Edmunds, and her baby brother, Kelly. As well as Robert Cure, husband of her sister DeeAnn Cure.
Kim's boundless love for her family and unwavering faith will carry them through this difficult time. Her legacy of devotion, service, and joy will live on through the many lives she touched.
