Mable (Ellis) Williams born in Kibby, Oklahoma on July 17, 1910 to Homer and Sylvia Ellis, passed away November 18, 2008 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She is survived by her three children, Lester (Claudette) Williams, Janice (Kenneth) Carpenter and Judy (Arnie) Ellsworth. She treasured he time spent with her six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by sister, Virginia Trainer and countless nieces and nephews. She was characterized by her faithful devotion to her husband, children and extended family, and remembered by her gracious spirit and sense of humor.
Mable came from Oklahoma to Colorado in 1913 in a covered wagon. Her family homesteaded near Boyero, Colorado and enjoyed working in the fields with her dad and racing horses at the county fairs.
Mable married Woodrow Williams on June 11, 1937 in Las Animas, Colorado. After retirement they spent their winters in Texas and Arizona until Woodys passing in 1993. Their love of dancing filled their weekends for many years. They enjoyed vacationing with their children, taking many road trips and two cruises.
Mable was preceded in death by husband Woody, parents Homer and Sylvia Ellis, brother Jim Ellis and sisters Rhoda Dutro and Opal Ferris.
Funeral services for Mable Williams were held on Tuesday November 25, 2008 at the First Baptist Church in Eads, CO with Pastors Steven Puls and Russell Parker officiating. Love Liebl provided the instrumental music with Sylvia Weeks singing In the Garden and It Is No Secret. Casketbearers were: Rod Johnson, Wayne Singer, Cardon Berry, Kip Peck, Terry Eder and John Negley. Honorary casketbearers were Mables grandchildren and great-grandchilderen. Final committal services were held at the Eads Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Eads Senior Citizens.
