Margaret Nan Richards was born to Elmer Lloyd and Nannie Cornelia Richards on January 3, 1937, in Denver, CO. She departed this life on January 29, 2025, at Grace Manor Care Center in Burlington, CO.

Margaret was the third child of Elmer and Nannie with older sister Edna, older brother Charles, and younger sister Doris. Margaret grew up in the house and neighborhood she was born in on the West side of Denver surrounded by a large extended family. There were many fond memories of family gatherings which included her Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins from both sides of her family. She graduated from Denver West High School in 1954 and went on to attend York College in York, NE, in pursuit of a degree in accounting. When she returned home from college, she lived with her parents and sister Doris. They all moved to Burlington, CO, in 1960.

After moving to Burlington, she and her future husband, Raymond Gramm, were set up on blind date through a mutual acquaintance, George Gustin. Two years later, they were married on September 2, 1962. Ray and Margaret began their married life in a small mobile home in the backyard of Elmer and Nan while they built their forever home on S. 16th St. They both resided there until Raymond went to Grace Manor in April of 2022 and Margaret herself in August of 2024.

Margaret went to work at the Burlington Record in December of 1966. She began in the paste up department then moved to the book keeping department where she continued her career until her retirement. 53 years, 3 months, and 21 days after joining the Record staff, she retired as the longest tenured employee in all of Media News Group. Her loyalty, attention to detail, and pride in her work made her an exemplary employee. These attributes she carried with her to the other organizations she held dear to her heart. She was a long time member and president of the Colorado Federation of Republican Women, a Boy Scout leader, a Sunday School teacher, and headed many groups and clubs while her boys were in school, including the Burlington Band Parents.

Raymond and Margaret had wanted to start their family but were told they most likely would not be able to conceive a child of their own. They had begun the adoption process and were very close to getting a baby through adoption when Margaret realized she was pregnant with John. John Lloyd was born July 16, 1967. Ten years later, their second miracle came when Margaret was again pregnant, and Russell Allen was born on April 28, 1977. Their two miracle babies were her pride and joy. She was a devoted mother and loved both her boys dearly. Her greatest heart's desire was for them to grow up to the love the Lord and know Him fully.

Church and her faith were both very important to Margaret. She attended West Cedar Church of Christ in Denver as a child along with all of her immediate and extended family. This is where she was baptized in Christ. After their move to Burlington, the family joined the congregation of Burlington Church of Christ. She never missed a service on Sunday or Wednesday until her health became such that she could no longer attend. Margaret read her bible often and instilled in her boys the value of studying the word of God. This legacy was passed to her from her parents, and she passed it on to her children and grandchildren.

Those left to mourn her passing are her husband of 62 years, Raymond Gramm; son John and his wife Becky; son Russell and his wife Gwendolyn; grandchildren and great grandchildren: Jessica Gramm; Christopher Gramm, his wife Deanna and their boys Kayden, Korbyn, Kolsyn, and Kyeson; Nathan Gramm; Benjamen Gramm, his wife Erin and their son Everett; Trenton Gramm; Ephrem Gramm; and Bethany Gramm.
