Raymond A. Crow Obituary

Raymond A. Crow, 81, was born to George and Jennie Crow on September 13, 1926 and passed away unexpectedly June 3, 2008 at his beloved home. He is survived by his loving wife Lucille of 57 years; daughter, Connie (Doug) Shotton of Eads and son, Frank (Sherri) Crow of Pueblo. He was "Grandpa Ray" to grandchildren, Derek Shotton, Danielle Crow and Cortney Crow. Ray was born and raised in Eads, Colorado along with 12 brothers and sisters. He came to be affectionately known to most everyone as "By Golly."

Ray spent two years in the Army, then returned to Eads where he spent 27 years at the Stop and Shop food store. Ray and Lucy then tried their hand at the restaurant business for several years. Ray also worked with his brother-in law drilling water wells. Ray and Lucy then retired from R&L Liquor after 19

years. "By Golly" was well known for decorating his house with Christmas lights every year. Ray spent the last 11 years of retirement working in his yard, drinking coffee with his many friends at the local cafe, enjoying the grandkids and taking several trips with Bob and Renee, including Cripple Creek and Black Hawk.

Ray enjoyed listening and watching the Rockies as well as the Broncos. Ray never had a bad thing to say about anyone. Not only was he a wonderful husband, dad, and grandpa; he left footprints on the hearts of all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed by his family, his friends and the community of Eads.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Jennie and George, three sisters, six brothers, and twin granddaughters, Ashley and Angela Shotton.
