Robert C. Swisher Obituary

Robert Cleo Swisher was born on January 26, 1933 in Lakin, Kansas the son of Don Cleo and Frances O. Coons Swisher. Robert was married to Sharlleen Cartwright on April 6, 1964 in Lamar, Colorado. He and Sharlleen were married for 37 years before divorcing in 1999. Robert spent his adult life working as a farmer and welder. He worked in the oil field and then joined the union building power plants in Colorado, Wyoming and Utah. After his retirement, he returned to his home in Sheridan Lake, Colorado. Roberts career kept him away from home most of the time, but when he would return on Friday night, his time was all about his children and family. He loved to play dominoes and cards with his friends and especially his son Clifford. Robert spent countless hours fishing with his family and friends and always said that one day he would catch the big one. There was hardly ever a day fishing when one was not a keeper. Robert belonged to the Sheridan Lake Bible Church and graduated from the Sheridan Lake School. Robert was in a serious automobile accident which forced him to move to his new home at the Park Lane Nursing Home in Scott City, Kansas where he died on April 3, 2009. Robert is survived by his children: Rodney (Tammy) Swisher of Pueblo, CO, Marsha Myers of Eads, CO, Teresa (Lonnie) Matthews of Lakin, KS and Clifford Swisher of Towner, CO. Robert is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and by his sisters: Patsy Brown of Dighton, KS and Donita Hickman and one brother Don E. (Marilyn) Swisher of Springfield, MO as well as by many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
