Mr. Vick died unexpectedly on October 19, 2014 in Westminster, CO.

Today we are having a home going celebration in honor of Ronald Keith Vick who left this earthly world and entered his true home in Heaven with Jesus. He was 56 years old and lost his life in a car accident due to health related issues. He was known as Ron by most of his friends, of which he had many scattered all over eastern Colorado and beyond. Ron was born in Flagler Colorado to the parents of Robert and Irene Vick, but home was in Boyero CO. He was the third child of eleven. Needless to say there was never a dull moment. Many times he and his brothers and sisters would look back in their latter years and be amazed that they all were still alive. One point in mind was when he and brothers Rob and Rocky decided to play hangman. They made a noose with some rope from the barn and through it over a rafter. Ron said to Rob and Rocky "Now what ever you do don't let go of the rope." Of course there thinking was that this would keep anything bad from happening. So when he jumped something definitely went wrong. Rocky said " I think we better let go of the rope." When he was old enough to have his drivers license is when his mom might have started getting gray hair. There was a couple of smash ups and roll over's. At one point he and his girl friend went to race at Pikes Peak Hill Climb and he almost won, but right at the end he hit the embankment and totaled her car. Her father was not pleased. During the time when Lincoln county was experiencing cattle mutilations, he was trying to help keep watch. He rolled his car and ended in a field. He was held at gun point by some local ranchers until he could convince them to call his Uncle Neil so he could vouch for who he was. Ron went through the 9th grade and decided he wanted to join the Army. While he was there he got his GED and became a very good mechanic. When he was out of the Army he went down to visit his sister and brother -in -law Ron and Sue Coleman in Lubbock TX. They went to an amusement park and he met Carolina Gonzales. The couple were married and to this union was born three children, Carrie, Ron Jr. and Robert. Later on the couple decided to go there separate ways but still kept in touch and remained friends. While working in his shop one day a lady brought her car in for repair. That's when he met Golda Harvey. The two hit it off and began to share a life together. He would become known as dad to her two girls Mary and Bridgette. The couple moved to Colorado. Some years later they too would go in separate directions, but also would remain friends. Ron decided to get into the wrecking and junking business. He and his son Ron Jr. partnered together and began hauling cars and recycling junk. He had many people that he helped from the Kansas border to Denver. When fuel prices got to be so high, he decided to drive truck and let someone else worry about paying for the fuel.

My dad has passed away. God has a reason for all of us and he was ready for you dad. We live and learn and when God is ready it's time. We will miss you so much as will everyone that loved you. All of us kids will miss you. I know we did not always see eye to eye, but we still loved you. I wished I could have shown you more love. We sometimes don't want to see why the things happen that do, but we know God will take care of that. There is so much pain for us right now but as time goes on we will heal. We will never forget the life we had with you. Rest in peace dad. May our God take care of the loving father, brother, Uncle, and cousin that we lost. We will always be thinking of you. Love Carrie, Ron Jr, Robert, Mary, and Bridgette. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Irene Vick. He is survived by Carolina Vick, children, Carrie Rivas, Ron Jr. Vick, Robert Vick, Mary Torres, & Bridgette Kelly, (Shane), Sister Sue Coleman (Ron), Rob Vick, Rocky Vick, (Konda), Norma Nash, (Win), Mary King, (Pat), Vicky Seymour, (Barry), RalphVick, Ray Vick, (Delmona), Russ Vick, (Darlene), Ross Vick, (LeAnn).
