Sharon Diane McEwen,79 passed from this life on June 5th, 2025, in Burlington, Co. She was born on July 16, 1945, in Denver Co. to Laverne and Cora Buck of Eads Colorado. Sharon grew up in Eads and went to Eads High School. She married the 1st love of her life Floyd McEwen on April 28, 1967. They lived in Wild Horse and Wray Co. until in 1970 they purchased the Troue Farm and Ranch Southeast of Kit Carson. They later also purchased the Kleibocker place just to the North. They made their home and worked side by side in the Ranching business until Floyd passed in May of 1994. Sharon was hard worker and very tough. She helped Floyd work cattle, build fence, pull calves and participated in all aspects of ranch life. Together they raised 3 Children: Johnna, Todd and JD.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Kit Carson where she taught Sunday School and was confirmed. After Floyd passed, she sold the ranch and several years later while working in Burlington Colorado met the 2nd love of her life Rod Bolejack. She moved to Burlington to be with Rod and for 22 years they made their home in Burlington. Sharon loved helping other people make things beautiful and while in Burlington she started her landscaping and decorating business: Outside In. Sharon loved flowers and had an amazing green thumb. She more than once won the Burlington Yard of the Month award. She was an excellent cook, and the family always looked forward to her holiday meals, especially her fudge and divinity.
Sharon loved her family more than anything. She was fiercely loyal to her children and grandchildren and would go to any lengths necessary to stand up for them and support them.
She is survived by Rod Bolejack of the home, 4 children Johnna Whitney (Steve Miller) of Lubbock TX, Todd McEwen of Wheeler, TX., JD McEwen (Heidi) of Tucumcari NM and infant daughter Shannon McEwen (deceased). 6 Grandchildren Chase Whitney (Maegen), Jess Whitney (Asya), Bill McEwen, Patrick McEwen, Bailey McEwen and Piper McEwen. 2 Great Grandchildren Walker Whitney and Wyatt Whitney, Brother Fred Buck, Sister Linda Lafferty, and Rod’s son Rusty Bolejack and family of Overland Park KS.
She is preceded in death by her husband Floyd McEwen, parents Laverne Buck and Cora Buck (Corky), Infant daughter Shannon McEwen, and brother Bill Buck.
