Teresa Dawn Witte — lovingly known to many as simply “T” — passed away on June 5, 2025, surrounded by the family she so fiercely loved. She was 61.
Born in La Junta, Colorado, on July 27, 1963, Teresa grew up in Eads, where the values of community, care, and creativity took root in her early years. She carried those values with her when she moved to Spearville, Kansas, in 1990 — the same year she married William Dean Witte. Their time together was brief but full of love, ending with his passing in 1995. Teresa later found companionship again with Ronald Nash, and through that union, she welcomed her beloved daughters, Stormi and Eboni.
In 1996, Teresa returned to Eads and took over the family flower shop, transforming it into Teresa’s Maine Street Boutique. Her artistry bloomed far beyond Kiowa County — in 2006, she was invited to work internationally in Italy, offering her unmatched floral design and event planning expertise. No matter how far her talent could take her, Teresa's heart remained deeply connected to her hometown, prompting her decision to decline the offer.
Teresa devoted her career to serving others. She worked for the Kiowa County Hospital District, served as an EMT, and later supported the county through Emergency Management. Beyond her formal roles, Teresa was a reliable, steadfast caregiver — offering support, companionship, and dignity to many in their final chapters. Her hands were always busy, and her heart was always open.
In 2022, Teresa embraced a new chapter, retiring and moving to Denver to live with her daughters and their families. There, she took on her most cherished role yet — caregiver to her 3 grandchildren. She continued arranging flowers, volunteering with nonprofits, and filling her days with purpose, laughter, and love.
Teresa was preceded in death by her mother, father, her niece Haley, nephew Ryan, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. She is survived by her daughters Stormi (Michael) of Eads, Colorado and Eboni (Jeremy) of Los Angeles, California, four grandchildren - Jeremiah, Aniyah, Legend, and Kyelle; as well as her brothers Ronnie of Eads, Colorado, Justin (Arelene) of Spearville, Kansas, and Steve (Kim) of McClave, Colorado, and a community of family and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held on June 20th at 10:00 AM at Praise Community Church in Eads, Colorado. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Teresa Witte Memorial Fund through GNBank in Eads, Colorado ( Address: 1220 Maine St, PO Box 847; Eads, CO 81036 Phone: (719) 438-5331).
She lived with kindness in her heart, flowers in her hands, and a legacy of service that will continue to bloom in all who knew her.
