Thomas Allen King was born on May 22, 1948 in Kiowa County, Colorado to George Leslie and Alpha Clara McCracken King and passed away on January 29, 2013 at the Weisbrod Memorial Nursing Home in Eads following a lengthy struggle with cancer, with his family by his side.

Tom lived the majority of his life in Eads, enjoying the simple things, being more content out in the country with his horse and cattle. Throughout his life he was a farmer, rancher, trucker, and jack of all trades. Tom was best known for his classic cowboy hat and his love of junk. Tom met Janice Clemans in 1962 and they married in 1966. Together they raised 3 children: Geleslie Warren, Waylon Eugene, and Jaton Rene.

Some of Toms greatest joys came from the Kiowa County Fair, especially the horse races where he would make a big bet of $.25 with his children, grandchildren, nieces or nephews or whomever happened to be at the King gathering corner. He also enjoyed the family get together with his brothers, sisters and their families.

Tom was preceded in death by his infant daughter; Shauna Marie, his parents, and 3 brothers: Leo Dean, Bobby Dale, and George Leslie. Tom is survived by Jan, by his children: Geleslie (Shannon) King of Eads, CO, Waylon (Sherie) King of Henderson, NV and Jaton (Jim) Wallace of Joes, CO. Tom is also survived by his grandchildren: Bailey, Melanie, Camryn, Sheranda, Tallon, Forrest, Paris, Tucker and Asher, and by one great granddaughter: Violet Rose. Tom is also survived by 2 sisters: Rebecca (Gary) Morgan of Hasty, CO, Bertha (Lee) Bouldin of Brighton, CO, 2 brothers: Jim (Doris) King of Seibert, CO and Elmer Red (Jennette) King of Burlington, CO as well as many nieces, nephews, and other family and many friends.

Funeral services for Tom King were held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at the Praise Community Church in Eads with Pastor Tony Jensen officiating. Final committal services were at the Eads Cemetery.
