Bill was born June 2, 1920, to Harry and Zola Martin Brachvogel in Tulare, South Dakota. Departed this life this life January 2, 2010 at Lamar, Colorado.


Bill married Neoma Gardner on August 30, 1941. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an armored car driver with the 10th Armored Division under the command of General Patton. He later retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Bill loved to play his harmonica to entertain friends.


Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife of 65 years, sisters: Mary Sis (Lyndel) Drake, Irmalee Rose Punk (Bob) Trottier, Neva Pauline Peany Stewart, Patricia Pat (P.O.) Hughes, granddaughter: Julia Lynn Ramsay.


Bill is survived by his sister, Carol Jean Jean (Jim) Whitman; son, Michael (Pat) Brachvogel; daughter, Sue Ellen (Dick) Ramsay; grandchildren: Jim (Heather) Ramsay, Rick Ramsay, Brenda Brachvogel Matteliano, Mike (Crystal) Ramsay; great-grand-children: Zachary, Emily, Taz, Kailey, Billy, Jacob and Faith Ramsay; brothers-in-law, Harold Stew Stewart, and Walt Boeke; several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends.


Bill recently transferred his membership to the First Christian Church in Eads, Colorado, while residing at Prairie Pines Assisted Living Center. He enjoyed participating in the weekly Bible study and getting to know the other residents and the wonderful staff.


We are better for having known him and will miss him here, but look forward to a great reunion in Heaven.
